Accessibility Ensuring an Inclusive Experience for All

At On the Blue Cruise, we are committed to making every voyage safe, comfortable, and enjoyable for all guests. Together with Norwegian Cruise Line, our team strives to provide full accessibility, ensuring everyone can enjoy the music, venues, and community aboard the Norwegian Jewel. Please review the information below to help us prepare for your needs in advance.

Before Booking Your Stateroom

Guests requiring ADA-compliant accommodations should first review NCL’s Accessibility Assistance information. In addition, please note:

The Norwegian Jewel offers accessible staterooms in the Interior, Oceanview, Balcony, Club Balcony Suite, and Penthouse categories. These rooms are designed to accommodate wheelchair access and motorized scooters.

  • ADA-compliant cabins are reserved only for guests who cannot sail without them.
  • Each accessible stateroom includes:
    • A roll-in doorway and roll-in shower with a removable shower seat.
    • Grab bars around the toilet.
    • An adjustable angled mirror above the sink.

To confirm which cabins meet accessibility requirements, contact our reservations team at (855) 622-3111 or CLICK HERE before booking. Accessible cabins are marked with a square on the deck plan.

Guests Using Mobility Devices

  • All mobility devices (wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, etc.) must be stored inside your stateroom. For safety reasons, they cannot be kept in hallways, stairways, or public areas.
  • Motorized devices are allowed only in accessible rooms, must use gel-cell batteries, and chargers must support 110 volts.
  • The ship carries a limited number of wheelchairs for emergency use only. Guests requiring mobility assistance must bring or rent their own device.

For rentals, contact NCL’s authorized vendor:

While Reserving Your Stateroom

Please communicate all special needs when booking, including:

  • Dietary restrictions or allergies
  • Mobility impairments
  • Requirement for an ADA-compliant stateroom
  • Other medical or accessibility needs
  • Service dogs

Important: Norwegian Cruise Line does not accept emotional support dogs as service animals.

Guests in ADA-compliant cabins automatically receive accessible seating in the Stardust Theater for assigned shows, along with one companion seat. Note that accessible seating is located in various areas throughout the theater, not the front rows.

If you have special seating requests for any reason, add them under “Special Needs for Assigned Seating” during booking. Requests will be accommodated when possible but cannot be guaranteed.

Before You Sail

Once you receive your NCL reservation number (approximately 45–60 days before departure), contact NCL’s Access Desk to discuss your needs. CLICK HERE to submit a request or call (866) 584-9756 to speak with an Access Coordinator.

For rental inquiries regarding wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, or medical equipment, contact Scootaround, NCL’s authorized accessibility vendor. Other companies will not have access to NCL ships.

Music Venues

Stardust Theater

Guests requiring wheelchair access should enter on Deck 6, Port Side.

  • Assigned Seating Shows: Guests with ADA-compliant cabins will automatically receive accessible seating for themselves and one companion.
  • General Admission Shows: Accessible seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

All Other Venues

All other music venues on board are general admission and open to all guests.

Restaurants and Lounges

Every restaurant and lounge aboard the Norwegian Jewel is accessible.

Public Restrooms

There are multiple accessible public restrooms throughout the ship for guest convenience.

Tenders and Shore Excursions

Most of the ports of call for the On The Blue Cruise 2027 will not require the use of a tender. However, because there may be cases where tendering or vessel transfers are required, please note:

  • Some transfers may not be fully accessible to wheelchairs or scooters.
  • Access to tenders may involve steps or staircases.
  • Guests weighing over 100 lbs. with scooters or wheelchairs cannot be transferred to tender boats or shore.

For shore excursions, accessibility varies by location. Not all excursion providers are equipped to accommodate mobility devices, and foreign ports may present additional challenges. For up-to-date accessibility information, contact NCL’s Access Desk at (866) 584-9756 before travel.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

From accessible staterooms and theater seating to wheelchair access and mobility support, every detail aboard the Norwegian Jewel is designed to make your experience inclusive and worry-free. If you or your travel companion have special needs, let our team know early so we can make the necessary arrangements for a seamless voyage.
