hALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA

The charming city of Halifax, Nova Scotia is known for its maritime heritage, and offers a delightful blend of history and modernity. Stroll along the picturesque seaside, visit the iconic Citadel Hill, and then dig into fresh seafood at one of the many waterfront restaurants. The warmth and hospitality of Halifax will make you feel right at home.

Take a scenic drive to Peggy’s Cove, a rustic fishing village of less than 40 residents and where you will find one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world, or spend the afternoon sipping award-winning wines from the vineyards of Annapolis Valley near the Bay of Fundy on the Annapolis Valley Wine and Cheese excursion. If you envision a day that feels less restrictive, explore Halifax at your own pace with the Halifax Attraction Pass. This excursion gives you the ability to spend as little or as much time as you wish at Halifax’s most popular attractions.

Stroll along the picturesque waterfront boardwalk, lined with shops, cafes, and galleries, relish the vibrant music scene at some of the local pubs and venues, or meander through the Public Gardens, a Victorian-era garden oasis in the heart of the city.

During your day, be sure to sample some of the local Atlantic lobster and Digby scallops, or, skip the seafood altogether on this stop and instead indulge in the local favorite, Donair. This mouthwatering middle eastern street food is very similar to a gyro or shawarma and is a staple here. Lastly, make a quick stop at the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market for a taste of local produce, artisanal cheeses, and baked goods.

sydney, nova scotia

Our journey continues to the scenic beauty of Sydney, Nova Scotia. Nestled on Cape Breton Island, Sydney is a gateway to stunning landscapes, rich Celtic heritage, and promises to be a highlight of our cruise.

A few of the excursions featured in this port include a scenic drive along the Cabot Trail, known for its breathtaking coastal views and hiking trails, and a visit to the Fortress of Louisbourg, a meticulously restored 18th-century French fortress. For guests who enjoy Celtic music, don’t miss a chance to experience the Spirit of the Fiddle as local entertainers dazzle you with their talents.

Sydney is well known for traditional Acadian dishes such as rappie pie and meat pie, both savory indulgences considered iconic dishes to the area and you can find some of the best in Sydney. If you find yourself in the mood for seafood, stop into the Governor’s Pub & Eatery for some of the most delectable seafood, including lobster, scallops, and mussels. To wrap up the visit. Be sure to keep an eye out for oatcakes, fat archies, and pork pies, which are all beloved Cape Breton treats.

Saint john, new brunswick

In Saint John, you’ll be captivated by the blend of history and natural wonders. Discover the unique phenomenon of the Reversing Falls, explore the charming streets of the historic Uptown area, or take a scenic drive along the Bay of Fundy. The vibrant culture and friendly locals will make your visit to Saint John truly memorable. Discover the city’s history at the New Brunswick Museum and the Loyalist House, explore the vibrant arts scene at local galleries and studios, or stroll along the Harbour Passage, a scenic waterfront walkway with stunning views.

Looking for a thrilling adventure? Ride into the Reversing Falls Rapids on a high-powered jet! This natural wonder is created by the Bay of Fundy's tides, which can rise more than 28 feet over the course of a day. When the tide is low, the river flows into the bay. As the tide rises, the seawater volume increases so rapidly that it reverses the river's flow, pushing it upstream. This results in a maelstrom of powerful rapids and whirlpools, offering a unique and unforgettable experience. Hoping for something a little less exhilarating? Maybe the Saint John Seafood Hopping tour is for you! This is just what it sounds like; an afternoon, walking through this gorgeous town, sampling local dishes prepared from local ingredients, and learning about the history of Saint John. What more could you ask for?

Speaking of food…Saint John is known for Atlantic salmon, scallops, and dulse (edible seaweed). Not into fish? Try some of the traditional Acadian dishes of Saint John, like Fricot (chicken stew) and Poutine Râpée (boiled potato dumplings), and more! Visit the Saint John City Market, the oldest continuously operating farmers’ market in Canada, for more tasty local delicacies.
